The Xavi Simons transfer saga is finally over as the Netherlands international re-joins RB Lezipg from PSG on yet another season-long loan deal, the German club confirmed on Monday. Simons was linked with a move to clubs like Bayern Munich and Manchester United earlier in the summer, however, he eventually decided to move back to his former club.

WHAT RB LEIPZIG SAID
The official statement from the Bundesliga club read, "Speculation surrounding Xavi’s future can finally be put to rest, with the Netherlands international (20 senior caps) returning to the Red Bulls for the new season. RB Leipzig will loan the 21-year-old from French giants Paris Saint-Germain for another year."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Sky Germany had earlier reported that the 21-year-old picked RB Leipzig over a move to Munich as he felt that he has a more secure role at his current club where he scored 10 goals and provided 15 assists across all competitions in the 2023/24 season.

Simons could play his first game against his parent club later this week as The Red Bulls take on the Ligue 1 champions in a pre-season friendly clash.
