Arsenal have opened contract talks with Laurent Koscielny over a new five-year contract, according to Mirror Football.
The France international has become an important member of the Gunners’ squad, and was a dependable member of the first-team in the Emirates Stadium side’s third-place Premier League finish last term.
Negotiations are underway, with Arsene Wenger eager to extend Koscielny’s current deal until 2017, and it is believed that the stopper has been offered a considerable pay increase as part of the discussions.
With the likes of Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie holding all the power in their exits from north London, Arsene Wenger is key to tie-down his remaining main players to long-term contracts.
Theo Walcott is another Gunners player in the last year of his contract at the club, with no further news over whether the England international will prolong his time at the Emirates.
